Ataraxia is nestled in the heart of the Thabazimbi bushveld, an exclusive destination for aviators, hunters and safari connoisseurs. Whilst also focussing on a traditional hunting experience with an exciting variety of game (on 1200ha of bushveld), we offer a unique but opulent retreat for couples, families or groups with some emphasis on the specific and unique requirements of fly-in guests.

Accommodation
To enhance the experience of seclusion in the African bush the accommodation offered at Ataraxia Main Lodge comprises five spacious self-catering units. The design of our lodge not only offers sufficient proximity and intimacy for group/friend bookings but simultaneously ensures privacy for individual groups, couples, or families. Each of our five luxury units features two ensuite airconditioned bedrooms, air-conditioning, gas stove and fridge equipped kitchen, lounge area, and patio with built-in braai facilities. Sufficient firewood and necessary items to ensure a most comfortable stay are included. The suites offer comfortable beds with clean, crisp linen. Each unit is individually decorated with an eclectic combination of handpicked furnishings. Attention to detail has been maintained throughout each of the luxurious units. We don’t believe that less is more.
To satisfy the unique needs of our fly-in guests, we stock our honesty bar and fridges with a range of beverages, and high-quality and fresh food products ranging from a variety of meat for the evening braai as well as breakfast and brunch ingredients. This means that our (especially fly-in) guests need not provide additional space or weight in the aircraft when visiting Ataraxia. Our reasonably priced bar and complimentary ice and firewood contribute to the comfort of the unforgettable experience when visiting us.
Ataraxia Main Lodge accommodates up to 22 sharing guests at a time.
Guests at Ataraxia Main Lodge also enjoy access to and use of our variety of amenities offered including our sparkling blue pool, bomas fires, and game drives (on request and prior arrangement).

The rustic yet comfortable Camp Olof generously accommodates 8 guests (sharing). Secluded and surrounded entirely by nature, Camp Olof provides the hunter with all that nature has to offer. Enjoy beautiful sunsets and the night sounds while enjoying a fire in the outdoor fire pit. Camp Olof comprises 4 bedrooms with separate bathrooms. The Rooms are decorated in true safari style with crisp white linen and plush towels. A fully equipped kitchen, spacious undercover patio, and sparkling pool offer guest a comfortable and unpretentious stay.

Hunting Experience
Having regard to the unique requirements of our guests (also with specific reference to our fly-in guests) we have tailored our hunting packages to offer a personalised hunting experience tailored for each individual guest.
Our meat processing facility allows for hunted carcasses to be processed on-site (and can be delivered in Gauteng or throughout the country).
Whilst the prices for some of our trophy game cater to our frequent international hunters, we ensure that a traditional hunting experience for our local hunters is offered at a reasonable fair with an abundance of game.
Our 2023 hunting season will commence on 1 May 2023 and will end on 31 August 2023. Our tariffs are included in the pricelist provided below:
